Chai Flavor for Beverages, Ice Cream and Confections
 

    Chai, inspired by a traditional East Indian recipe, is one of India's favorite beverages. Chai is a creamy, spicy, and sweet tea-based beverage. It has a unique flavor profile and is richer than most flavor or herbal teas. The flavor profile can be described as fine black tea brewed with some exotic spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger and pepper and sweetened with honey and vanilla. The select blend of spices has both a soothing and stimulating effect.

    Chai is a new choice for coffee cafes and tea rooms and is an alternative for coffee, espresso and latte drinkers. It can be enjoyed either hot, cold or frozen. Chai can be made with soy or rice "milk" as well as no fat and low fat milk.

    Other Applications for Chai flavor include water ice, frozen dessert, custard, baked goods and candy.
